Congratulations to Leslie Aiona on being named our STAR 101.5 Teacher of the Week!

On Tuesday morning, October 12th, STAR 101.5 surprised Green Lake Elementary School’s K-3rd grade teacher, Ms. Leslie Aiona and her classroom, with news that she was being honored as our STAR 101.5 Teacher of the Week! Ms. Aiona was nominated by Shana Reidy and her student Dane.

"Ms. Aiona is one of the teachers in the medically fragile program at Green Lake Elementary School. I'm singling out Leslie as she is the primary teacher but her whole team of educators are all equally deserving," said Shana.

"These teachers care for and educate our medically fragile children. They do this all with grace and love and true compassion for our children. They share in our joy at even the smallest of accomplishments," shared Shana. "They always greet our children with smiles on their faces and create an incredibly welcoming and inclusive environment. It feels amazing to be able to send my medically complex child to school knowing that his team can meet all of his needs."

Ms. Aiona received a $101.50 check from STAR 101.5 and the Washington State Potato Commission, and a personalized plaque from Trophies2Go. Each student also received a goody bag full of prizes from STAR 101.5 and the Washington State Potato Commission.
