FX unveiled the first full trailer for its long-awaited dramatization of President Bill Clinton’s impeachment Thursday, giving viewers their best look yet at Clive Owen’s portrayal of the former president.
The third season of the network’s “American Crime Story” anthology series recounts the impeachment saga of the late 1990s from the perspective of several of the women involved, including then-White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who serves as one of the show’s producers. Lewinsky is played on screen by “Booksmart” star Beanie Feldstein.
In addition to Feldstein and Owen, the limited series features Edie Falco as Hillary Clinton, Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones, Billy Eichner as Matt Drudge, and Cobie Smulders as Ann Coulter. Previous seasons of the series focused on the O.J. Simpson trial and the murder of Gianni Versace.
“Impeachment: American Crime Story” was originally set to premiere before the 2020 election, but it was delayed. The first episode arrives on FX on Sept. 7.
