WASHINGTON (SBG) – Netflix, Hulu and other streaming services are showing their support for the global protests stemming from the death of George Floyd.

"To be silent is to be complicit. Black lives matter," Netflix wrote.

George Floyd died earlier this week after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, now charged with third-degree murder, was filmed kneeling on Floyd's neck during an arrest. His death has since sparked outrage and protests across the globe over police brutality targeting African Americans, often leading to fatalities.

Later Saturday evening, Amazon joined Netflix in support of Black Lives Matter.

"Together we stand with the Black community — colleagues, artists, writers, storytellers, producers, our viewers — and all allies in the fight against racism and injustice," Amazon shared across its social media platforms.

Other streaming services and studios have since followed suit.

"We support Black lives. Today, and every day. You are seen. You are heard. And we are with you," Hulu tweeted.

"We cannot stand silent while our Black communities under the weight of violence, discrimination and injustice,” Starz wrote in a statement on Twitter and Instagram. “Color of Change and the NAACP are among the organizations taking the lead in the fight for racial justice in America. We support them in their mission and you can too."

The HBO streaming service also released a statement on social media: “'Neither love nor terror makes one blind: indifference makes one blind.'” — James Baldwin. We stand with our Black colleagues, employees, fans, actors, storytellers — and all affected by senseless violence."
