Prom season is in full swing, but for most grown-ups, that just means gaggles of teenagers in their favorite restaurants on Friday and Saturday nights for a few weeks. This year, though, Bumbershoot is giving the adults among us a chance to don a corsage and vie for titles like "Best Dressed" and, of course, prom king and queen. Oh, and they'll also be unveiling this year's lineup.
Bumbershoot's prom, which is being thrown by the Crocodile and 107.7 The END, is happening over two nights, but tonight's the night for the lineup. From the press release:
Washington native and soulful powerhouse Allen Stone takes the stage at The Crocodile for a prom themed two-night party, May 2 and 3. Stone will serve as the house band, entertaining with a mix of popular cover songs as well as his own original hits. Between sets, attendees will enjoy the first public announcement of the Bumbershoot 2013 lineup, a DJ-ed playlist of Bumbershoot artists, "best dressed" contests, and the crowning of prom king and queen.
Like every year, Bumbershoot will showcase the best of the Northwest's arts and music, as well as big name national and international talent, over Labor Day weekend at Seattle Center.
We'll have the updates posted to STAR1015.com and KOMONews.com tomorrow -- I'll be dressing up and staying up late alongside photographer Josh Lewis to get fashion photos, as well as the scoop on all the upcomming acts -- but if you just can't wait to find out, check in with one of the other bars who will also be hosting lineup parties. Solo, the Rendezvous, Vermillion, and Neumos are just a few of the spots that will also be unveiling the schedule.
