The state's Unclaimed Property Program says it notified around 700 people by mail that their time to claim safe deposit contents is running out.
A state spokeswoman says as of Thursday, fewer than a dozen people who were notified have responded, and Thursday is the deadline to file a claim.
The State emphasizes that the claim deadline only applies to people who received notices, by mail in late July, but anyone can check to see if they have unclaimed property.
To see if the state is holding unclaimed property for you, go the State Department of Revenue website and find the listing that says "Search for unclaimed property". That takes you to the claim your cash web page.
Type in your name, and you'll be able to see of there's check or other property being held in your name.
