Magazine claims Seattle is snobby, city doesn't even care

"Travel+Leisure" has ranked Seattle among the snobbiest cities, and you know what? We turn up our noses at that.

To decide which cities made the cut, T+L "factored in some traditional staples of snobbery: a reputation for aloof and smarty-pants residents, along with high-end shopping and highbrow cultural offerings like classical music and theater."

Because an interest in culture apparently makes a city snobby. This is why we can't have nice things.

The top cities were a little surprising -- notoriously counter-cultured San Francisco ranked number one, followed by a predictable New York, then Boston, Minneapolis/St. Paul...and a tie between Santa Fe and Seattle.

What's to blame for our air of holier-than-thou? According to T+L, it's our affinity for fine coffee (guilty) and our penchant for being early adopters of technology (admittedly true). Of course, Seattle has also consistently been ranked among the Worst Dressed and the Best Educated cities, so if anything, we're just a bunch of dumpy eggheads, right?
