WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Listen up, gumshoes! At last, we know where in the world Carmen Sandiego is (or at least where she'll be in 2019): Netflix.
The globe-trotting villainess - she of the '80s educational computer game "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" and countless spinoff TV shows, comics, board games, books and other media - is set to star in an animated series on the streaming service.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, twenty 22-minute episodes of "Carmen Sandiego" have been ordered.
Gina Rodriguez, best known for her starring role in the CW's "Jane the Virgin," will voice the scarlet-clad, international thief. The actress tweeted early Sunday morning, "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?"
Last Friday she teased, "I already have the fedora and coat. So it's definitely true."
The re-imagined series will "present an intimate look into Carmen's past to follow her escapades and also answer who in the world Carmen Sandiego is and why she became a super thief," The Hollywood Reporter states.
"Stranger Things'" Finn Wolfhard is set to voice Sandiego's friend and accomplice, Player.
