Saturday Night Live produced a parody skit making light of the new Netflix documentary series “Wild Wild Country." The documentary series gives an in-depth look at the formation of Rajneeshpuram outside the small town of Antelope, Oregon in the 1980s.

The Rajneesh society worshiped the teachings of the spiritual leader Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. The followers called themselves sannyasins.

While the show highlights the turmoil and violence surrounding the cult, the SNL skit takes a more humorous approach. Actors Nasim Pedrad, Kate McKinnon, and Beck Bennett impersonate serious sannyasins from the show and reflect their passion for the religion’s uprising.

Meanwhile, actor Kenan Thompson pretends to be a member who was just there for the nudity and sexual acts. Thompson’s character is convinced the cult is a gang.

While the other actors in the skit give convincing portrayals of the real characters, Thompson gives a new, laughable, perspective on what some might think drew followers to the cult.
