Marvel Studios chiefs are reportedly developing a new limited series centered on Anthony Mackie's Falcon superhero and Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier.
Officials at parent company Disney have been plotting new material for the studio's upcoming streaming service, with previous reports outlining shows based on Thor's brother Loki and Scarlet Witch.
Now producers are turning their attentions to a project centered on tensions between Captain America's sidekick Falcon and his associate Winter Soldier, who famously endure a love/hate relationship.
Empire writer Malcolm Spellman has been tapped to work on the proposed show, according to Variety.
It's not yet clear if Mackie and Stan will reprise their roles for the small screen, or if they will be recast, but Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige will be directly involved.
The news emerges days after Marvel executives stunned comic book fans by cancelling their popular Luke Cage series on Netflix after three seasons. They also axed Iron Fist following two seasons on the streaming service.
